With 2021 now firmly behind us, we can take stock and look back at some of the remarkable achievements that have taken place across the railway preservation movement during the last 12 months. Despite the continued effects of Covid-19, railways and heritage organisations across the country have still managed to complete some inspiring projects that, in many cases, have challenged the limits of what was thought possible by volunteers and enthusiasts. All those achievements are testament to the continued drive, resourcefulness, and ingenuity of Britain’s preservation movement.
In recognition of those efforts, we have put forward ten nominees for the coveted Steam Railway magazine award at the Heritage Railway Association’s awards ceremony later this year, and we want you – our readers – to decide what should win.
This is about celebrating the preservation movement’s finest achievements in a year that has continued to test the resolve and strength of our industry. This is the only HRA award decided by readers, so make sure your voice is heard and vote.
Voting closes at 23:59pm on the 18th February 2022.
