Jeremy Hosking's Locomotive Services Ltd has become Britain's third main line steam tour operator, after the organisation was granted a Train Operating License.
LSL officially become a Train Operating Company on August 4, which means it can operate main line steam excursions on Britain's main line network.
In a statement, LSL said: “Following a significant amount of hard work we have been awarded the necessary Safety Certificate, Access Agreement and Train Operating License required to operate services on the national rail network.”
The Crewe-based organisation joins West Coast Railways and DB Cargo as Britain's third main line steam tour operator, although the dates for the TOC's first main line tours have yet to be confirmed.
LSL also announced that it had received a Network Rail Gauging Certificate for both Stanier No. 46100 Royal Scot and 'West Country' No. 34046 Braunton (currently running as 'Battle of Britain' No. 34052 Lord Dowding) to run along the North Wales coast to Llandudno and south to Cardiff.
Further information about LSL's main line plans is expect to be released shortly.
