Dolgoch - Clip 1
On September 25 1965, the Talyllyn Railway celebrated the 100th anniversary of its opening running a special train entitled, appropriately, 'The Centenarian'. The locomotive was the second of two supplied by Fletcher, Jennings & Co. of Lowca near Whitehaven. Named Dolgoch, Talyllyn Railway No. 2 (w/No. 62) was built to a totally different design to the railway's first locomotive, No. 1 Talyllyn, which wasn't in working order at the time of the Centenary. The celebrations included a vintage car rally and passengers in Victorian dress.
DOLGOCH - CLIP 2
On another day Dolgoch, wearing a different headboard, is seen approaching the second intermediate station on the line, Rhydyronen. This train has been augmented by the addition of open carriages which might have been a bit chilly on a late September afternoon!
